Scientist: Eric Lambin

Eric Lambin profileEric F. Lambin, Professor of Geography and Sustainability Science, divides his time between the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) and Stanford University (USA). His research tries to better understand the causes and impacts of land use changes in different parts of the world. He is International Fellow at the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and a member of four Academies of Science in Europe.

Since 2021, he is also a member of the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors to the European Commission. In June 2023, he led the Group of Advisors to develop the Scientific Opinion to the Evidence Review Report “Towards sustainable food consumption” of SAPEA, the EU-funded Science Advice for Policy by European Academies consortium, as part of the EU`s Scientific Advice Mechanism (SAM).
