Katalin Halmai is a Brussels based freelance journalist. She is working for the independent Hungarian newspaper Népszava which also has a big online presence. She has been working as a Brussels correspondent since 2001. Earlier she occupied various management positions at Népszava and other Hungarian media outlets. This year Katalin Halmai was awarded the “For our Europe” award by the National Association of Hungarian Journalists.
