Dr Philipp Schmid is a scientific researcher and interim lecturer for statistics and methods at the Department of Psychology at the University of Erfurt (Germany). Philipp’s research aims at analysing the psychological reasons of science denialism as well as designing interventions to reduce the influence of fake news on health decision making. His contributions to the field are published in various scientific journals and he has given numerous talks on the issue of vaccine hesitancy and fake news. Philipp is also the lead author of the WHO guideline on how to respond to vocal vaccine denier in public and a co-author of the Debunking Handbook 2020.
