Mario Scharfbillig
Mario Scharfbillig works at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, where he leads the Enlightenment 2.0 research programme. The programme provides scientific insights into how political decision-making is evolving in an increasingly polarised, complex, and uncertain world.
He advises various Horizon Europe projects, as well as ALLEA (All European Academies), the Club of Venice, the European Geosciences Union (EGU), and the International Science Council (ISC). He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Mainz, where he specialised in behavioural economics, public policy, and corporate governance.
