Yves Dejaeghere

Yves Dejaeghere is the executive director of the Federation for Innovation in Democracy – Europe. He has worked as a senior researcher in political science at KU Leuven and the University of Antwerp and as a guest professor at several other universities across Belgium and France. He has also been a visiting researcher at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. As a scholar, he has published in major international journals writing about topics, including participation in politics, citizenship, elections and information processing strategies of elite politicians. From 2018 to 2020 he was the coordinator of the Belgian G1000 organisation, a think tank which focused on the use of sortition and deliberative democracy. He is regarded as an expert amongst others by the European Court of Auditors, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Commission, the Council of Europe, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and a number of local, regional and national governments.
