Wilfried Weber
Prof. Dr Wilfried Weber is Scientific Director at Leibniz Institute for New Materials (INM) and Professor for New Materials at Saarland University in Germany. His research aims at combining synthetic biology and materials sciences for the development of biohybrid, living materials for use in different fields, including biomedical, biosensing and construction applications.
He holds an ERC Advanced Grant (project "STEADY") focused on dynamically controlling the properties of ELMs via synthetic genetic circuits and also coordinates the European Innovation Council funded consortium "LoopOfFun," which aims at developing a platform for industry-scale manufacturing of fungal mycelia composites.
