Maria Elena Bottazzi

Maria Elena Bottazzi Maria Elena Bottazzi is a Honduran and Italian-born naturalised American microbiologist. She is Co-Director of the Texas Children's Hospital Center for Vaccine Development at Baylor College of Medicine, and Distinguished Professor of Biology at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She has more than 20 years of experience in translational biomedical research and vaccine development and is skilled in Tropical Medicine, Epidemiology, Vaccines, Molecular Biology, and Biotechnology. She and her colleague Peter Hotez led the team that developed the low-cost Covid-19 vaccine Corbevax.
