Ilaria Capua

Dr. Ilaria Capua, DVM, PhD, is the Director of the One Health Center of Excellence for Research and Training, University of Florida, USA. Before the University of Florida, she spent more than three years as a member of the Italian Parliament and served as vice president of the Science, Culture and Education Commission of the Chamber of Deputies. Before joining the Italian Parliament, Dr. Capua was the director of the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie, in Padova, Italy. The department now hosts the EU reference laboratory for Avian Influenza.
