What are the challenges for academic freedom in Europe today? And how could the EU address them?

 

A STOA conference, organised with the support of the European University Association (EUA), took place on 9 November 2021. It sought to clarify the definition of academic freedom, to frame the challenges in the EU context and to examine possible legal bases for addressing them.
