STOA pairing scheme: when policy makers and scientists work hand in hand

Once a year, the European Parliament’s Panel for the Future of Science and Technology (STOA) in collaboration with the European Research Council (ERC) organises its pairing scheme session. For two days, MEPs and scientists meet, discuss and try to learn from each other.

This year’s theme was science-driven solutions for sustainable food.

How can people reduce meat consumption and switch to more sustainable plant-based diets? How can we produce food in a more sustainable way? And what about food security?

This is an area where cooperation between policy makers and scientists can be particularly effective.
