About ESMH

European Science-Media Hub (ESMH) is a project of the European Parliament’s Panel for the Future of  Science and Technology (STOA). It was launched in 2017 and works under the guidance and the political responsibility of the STOA Panel.

Eva Kaili (S&D, Greece), STOA Chair : The European Science-Media Hub aims at empowering science journalism and promote evidence-based information for citizens in a “post-truth” era flooded by fake news and intended misinformation. The creation of the Hub is a pan-European determined action against populist ideas which fuel anti-European fake news. The main target of the Hub is to be a point of reference for journalists who seek to disseminate accurate and unbiased scientific news to Europeans.

Paul RÜBIG (Christian Democrats, Austria), STOA First Vice-Chair (January 2017- June 2019) : In the age of artificial intelligence and machine learning, we have to make research, science and technology better understandable and accessible for people. It will serve as an authoritative centre for information, networking and education in the broad area of science journalism.
